Thematic Issues and Publication Format
The series publishes special thematic issues devoted to key areas and emerging topics across all fields of medicine and healthcare. Publication follows a continuous publication model, ensuring that each article becomes available online immediately after successful peer review and formal acceptance, without waiting for the completion of the entire issue.
Academic Standards and Research Integrity
The series maintains strict adherence to international standards of medical publishing and research ethics. Submissions must demonstrate scientific novelty, methodological accuracy, and clinical or theoretical significance. All manuscripts undergo verification of originality using professional plagiarism-detection software. Authors are required to provide clear statements on ethical approval of research, informed consent (where applicable), conflicts of interest, funding sources, and data accessibility. Compliance with recognized standards such as the ICMJE Recommendations, COPE guidelines, and the Declaration of Helsinki is mandatory for all clinical and experimental studies.
Editorial Structure of Thematic Issues
Each thematic issue is led by an appointed Guest Editor, who defines its academic and clinical focus, oversees the peer review process, and provides recommendations regarding acceptance decisions. Guest Editors collaborate closely with the permanent Editorial Board and the editorial office to ensure consistency with the scientific and ethical policy of the series.
Peer Review Process
All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review, preserving the anonymity of both authors and reviewers. Editorial decisions include: accept, accept with revisions, revise and resubmit, or reject. The final publication decision is based on reviewers’ evaluations and the Guest Editor’s recommendation, with additional checks for ethical and technical compliance by the editorial office.
Open Access Policy
All works are published under an open access model, providing unrestricted access to readers worldwide. Articles can be read, downloaded, and shared freely. Copyright and reuse rights are governed by a Creative Commons license, with the specific license type indicated on each article’s webpage. This model enhances global visibility, facilitates rapid dissemination of research, and supports knowledge exchange among clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals.
Identifiers, Metadata, and Long-Term Availability
Every published work receives full bibliographic metadata and a persistent digital identifier to ensure proper citation and long-term traceability. Articles are formatted with machine-readable metadata for integration into major international databases, digital libraries, and indexing systems, supporting global discoverability and permanent archiving.
Call for Contributions and Guest Editors
The series welcomes clinicians, medical researchers, and healthcare professionals to contribute to forthcoming thematic issues and to propose new topics reflecting current challenges and innovations in medical science. Interdisciplinary and translational studies bridging basic research and clinical application are particularly encouraged.
We also invite experienced scholars and practitioners to participate as Guest Editors. Guest Editors define the thematic scope, oversee the review process, and ensure adherence to the series’ editorial and ethical principles.
Proposals for thematic issues or editorial collaboration may be submitted to the Editorial Office at any time. Each proposal is assessed for its scientific relevance, originality, and contribution to the advancement of medical knowledge and healthcare practice.
